It was pouring rain, and very late. Scott, obviously, hadn’t been expecting any visitors. Especially since his mom was out of town, and it was just him at home.
But, shortly before it hit midnight, Scott was snapped to attention at a rapid pounding on his door. It’d scared him, causing him to jump slightly from his seat on the couch. Confused, he’d glanced behind himself in the direction of the front door, wondering just who the hell was here ten minutes from midnight.
He didn’t let it bother him. There was only one way to find out who, so standing up, Scott took the few short steps to the front door, unlocking it and swinging it open. Scott was promptly surprised when he saw you standing on his front porch, drenched from the pouring rain outside.
It wasn’t all that odd for you to visit Scott late at night, or even spend the night, since the both of you were together. But you always texted or called before hand, letting him know. “Y/N?” Scott question, pulling you inside hastily. He helped you pull off your wet jacket as you shivered.
Taking a blanket off his couch, Scott wrapped it tightly around your shoulders. “What are you doing here, Y/N?”
“My dad…” You begun, eyes watery. Scott hadn’t noticed it until now, because of the rain, but you’d been crying. “Well, actually, my step mom. She kicked me out of the house…”
“What?” Scott questioned, eyes widening. “What do you mean kicked you out?” Scott’s eyes widened as realization dawned on him. The many late night visits, you suddenly calling him asking if you could spend the night. It all made sense now. “Y/N, how long has this been going on?”
You glanced at the floor, as if ashamed. “For a while…”
Scott sighed, shaking his head as you glanced back at him. “I didn’t know where else to go, and i’m sorry I didn’t call first. I didn’t have the chance to grab my phone before she was practically pulling me out of the house.” You hugged the blanket tighter to yourself, sniffling. “I can go…”
“No,” Scott shook his head. Shaking himself, he tried to calm himself. Getting angry would do him no good, and right now you needed him. Stepping forward, Scott smiled softly at you. “Of course,” he whispered, wrapping his arms around you. “You can stay here for as long as you need.”
“But your mom…”
“Mom’s out on a business trip,” Scott explained. “Gone for a week. Enough time to figure things out. Besides, she won’t mind, she loves you.”
You nodded, biting your lip. “The worst part is my dad just stood there, he didn’t even care…” You whispered.
Scott pulled back, cupping your cheeks. “I care, okay? And i’m going to help you. I won’t let her hurt you.”
You just nodded, leaning into his embrace. “Thank you…”

“Hey you must be the new student! Welcome to Liberty! My name is Anna Green and i’m going to be your tour guide for the day!”
“Hey i’m Kelly Lambert. And thank you! i’m happy to see the school”
Anna led Kelly through the main doors of Liberty High School, and began showing her all the rooms and hallways that she would need to know. She began introducing her to people and explaining the Liberty culture as well. They turned a corner, coming up on the hallway where all the jocks spent their time. “Who are those people over there?” said Kelly.
“Those would be our jocks. Some of them are assholes, but there’s a few nice ones thrown into the mix.” She began pointing each one of them out. “That tall one is Zach Dempsey. football, basketball and baseball star. Actually nice, and cares about school. Then we have Bryce Walker. Biggest dick that walks the halls of Liberty. Tries to get into every girls pants. Good at football and baseball though, i won’t lie. That’s Jeff Atkins. Best baseball player Liberty has seen in years. Super nice. That one there is Justin Foley. Basketball star. He can be nice, but he’s also fucked more girls out of anyone in that bunch. Then there’s Marcus Cooley. Doesn’t play any sports, but he’s our student body president. Sometimes he’s nice, other times, not so much. Then last but not least, we have Montgomery de la Cruz. Classic hothead. Will start a fight with a brick wall if he’s bored. Baseball star, right behind Jeff. Football too.
“What about those 2 girls with them? Who are they?” asks Kelly.
“That would be Jessica Davis and Y/N Y/L/N. Jessica is Justin’s girlfriend. Super sweet. Cheerleader. Y/N is our soccer star. Named best in the state at last years championship. She’s known all the boys since elementary school. One of the most popular girls in school. But she’s the sweetest thing.”
The day went on, and Kelly learned more and more about Liberty as she went. Her last class was Bio, and when she walked in, the only available seat was by the one and only Y/N. Sitting next to her was Zach Dempsey.
“Hey! You can come sit here if you want,” said Y/N, snapping Kelly out of her trance.
“Oh hey thanks. I’m Kelly.”
“Very nice to meet you. I’m Y/N, and this is Zach.”
Kelly greeted Zach and just then the teacher started class. As the class went on, she noticed how Zach would answer would answer a lot of the questions, and when it came down to the classwork, he helped Y/N whenever she had a question.
The next day, she walked into her first period English class, and sat down in the back, right behind Jeff and Marcus. The teacher started class, and started talking about an essay that was going to be due at the end of the week.
“Dude there’s no way i’m gonna have time to finish this essay by Friday. Do you think Y/N would do it for me?” asked Marcus.
“You know Y/N. There’s no way she would write it for you. She’d help you sure, but you’re gonna do the work,” said Jeff. Marcus sighed and pulled out his phone, probably texting Y/N.
“Hey Jeff we still on for free period?”
Kelly looked over and saw Clay Jensen, someone she had met yesterday, ask Jeff.
“Definitely man. i might be a few minutes late though, Y/N asked me to help her get something out of her car.”
As she heard the conversations, Kelly couldn’t help but wonder what was so special about Y/N.

During her free period, she headed down to the bleachers by the football field. She started working on her essay, but when she looked up, she couldn’t help but notice Jeff Atkins and Y/N walking, Jeff carrying a bag of soccer balls over his shoulder.
“Thanks for helping me with these Jeff. Coach had me go pick them up yesterday. Says it’s part of my ‘new-found captain duties’.” They both laughed as Jeff set them down in front of the bleachers.
“Anything for you kiddo. But i gotta go meet Clay in the library,” said Jeff. “Hey how is that going by the way? You know I would’ve helped you in a heart beat if it hadn’t been for soccer starting.”
“I know you would have. But it’s good so far. He’s really smart. He’s helping me with my essay on Friday and to study for the next test.”
“That’s great. Marcus asked me to help him with his essay this morning so I gotta find time for that on top of my own. But anyway we both have to go. See you at lunch.” And with that she jumped up and kissed his cheek, before running to the middle of the field where the rest of her team was.
‘Are they dating?’ The question floated around Kelly’s head as she watched the encounter, but forgetting about it, she began to work on her essay. As she began packing up her things to head to her 5th period Algebra class, she watched the last few minutes of the girls soccer practice, where they were scrimmaging. She watched Y/N weave in between players and eventually pass the ball, only to receive it again and shoot and score from the 18 yard box. The team ended the practice there, and all headed back into the locker room. “Hey Kelly!” yelled Y/N once she spotted the new girl as she was walking to change. Kelly waved as she started walking to her class. She slid into her seat with seconds to spare, the bell ringing just as she got settled. She pulled out her things and waiting for the teacher to start class, and a few minutes later, a few girls from the soccer team strolled in.
“Nice of you to finally join us ladies. I still don’t think you should be excused from being late because of practices. Take a seat,” said the teacher. As the girls sat down, Bryce Walker turned to the side and said something along the lines of, “You looked really hot and sweaty out there, but i’d enjoy it much more if you were hit and sweaty under me,” to one of the players, and Y/N’s head whipped around so fast you would’ve thought she would’ve gotten whiplash.
“Listen Walker. We may be acquaintances, but that doesn’t mean i’m going to let you treat my players like they’re sex toys. Leave them alone before i shove my foot so far up your ass you’ll be shitting out my shoe.” And with that, Y/N turned around as if nothing had happened, and the infamous Bryce Walker started sliding down in his seat grumbling. Kelly shook her head and fought back a smile, wondering again bout the mysteries of Y/N Y/L/N.
Lunch rolled around, and Kelly walked in, not quite sure where to sit. She looked around at the different tables, seeing the typical cliques separated. Right in the middle of the cafeteria, she saw the jocks, with Jessica and Y/N sitting with them. Y/N was right between Zach and Montgomery, laughing at something one of them had said. A few tables over, she spotted Clay, Anna, and a few others sitting, and she figured that that was her best bet.
“Hey can i sit here?” she asked as she walked up to the table, everyone offering her a place to sit.
“So how do you like Liberty so far?” asked Anna. “I like it so far. Kind of confusing to find other places though,” answered Kelly.
“You aren’t lying,” said Hannah, “It took me 2 weeks before i even remotely knew my way around.”
“Hey tell me a little about Y/N. I’ve heard a lot of people talking about her or to her and i get more and more confused every time.”
“Well,” said Anna,” She’s known all of those boys since elementary school. She’s like a mom to them. Quite literally in Justin’s case. Don’t ask how we know, but Justin has a really bad home life, and she lets him crash at her house whenever he can’t stay with Bryce or Jessica. When Zach’s dad died last summer, she was with him for a week, just being there for him. She was there holding him at the funeral while he was crying.” “Not to mention she’s the only one that can put Bryce in his place when he’s being an asshole,” said Clay. “I remember she punched him in the face in third grade because he pulled her off the swings when he wanted to play with her.”
“Oh my god,” Kelly said laughing.
“She helps all of them keep their grades up too. She was helping Jeff in English everyday until soccer started. then i started tutoring him. She knows how much baseball means to him, and she sacrificed her afternoons to help him get his grades up so he could play.”
“I saw her kiss him on the cheek earlier today. Are they dating?” she asked.
“No Jeff has a girlfriend. But they’ve known each other since they were in pre-school, and they’re as close as brother and sister. And Marcus- she helps him with a lot of the advertising for student council.”
“What about her and Montgomery?”
“That is where it gets a little complicated,” said Anna. “whereas the other guys are like brothers to her, her and Monty have a really weird relationship. They’re super flirty, and their together a lot. They’ve hooked up once or twice at parties. They just don’t really have a label.”
They all looked over and noticed that Monty had his arm around her shoulders, and how every time he stole some of her food, she would swat his hand away.
“Oh yea. We definitely have to get them together,” Kelly said.
A/n: I hope you enjoy it :) and I did your request justice :)
—————————————————————
“Wanna come over today?” You heard the voice of your beloved boyfriend as he put his arms around your waist softly squeezing you. You turned around in his arms kissing his lips softly.
“I wish I could but you know, I have this family thing today” you said as you thought of what your dad would say about your boyfriend.
“Oh well at least let me drive you home” he smiled as you just shaked your head.
“You don’t have to” you couldn’t tell Montgomery what was going on at home. He already was very protective of you and if he knew what you dad does to you he would flip.
“I want to, please babygirl. I wanna make sure you come home safe” you winced at the home safe as you looked at Montgomery. He luckily didn’t notice it.
“I just wanna take a walk today, you know with the weather being great and everything” he nodded as he put his keys into his backpack.
“You hate walking? No matter what the weather is!” He laughed as he looked at you. Your expression firm. He nodded as he put his arm over your shoulder before walking to the exit of the school.
“Well then I’m walking you home” you eyes widen as you stopped walking.
“Monty, really it’s fine. You don’t have to” he looked at you confused as to why you didn’t want him to come.
“Okay y/n what’s going on?” As he took your hands in his before putting one hand under your chin making you look up at his figure.
“Nothing, I just wanna take a walk alone. There is this big exam coming up and I have to think about it” He furrowed one brow as he studied your face.
“Please just let me drive you home, you have all the time for this exam” he pleaded as you sighed.
“Fine” he smiled as he took your hand leading the way to his car. He opened the door for you and shut it once your whole body was in it before going into his seat as he started the car driving out of the school parking lot.
You watched as tree after tree flew by as you turned your head to look at Monty. You admired his feature and wondering how you got him. As your house came in sight you widen your eyes.
“Okay you can stop here, I’ll walk the rest. I love you” you pecked his lips real quick before running out forgetting your backpack in all the hurry.
You opened the door as you looked around trying to get up to your room without your dad seeing you but you had no luck.
“Who was that guy?” He asked as he came into your sight. “Look at you whoring around.” He walked towards you making you take steps back before hitting the wall.
“Tell me who was that guy? Is it your little boyfriend? ” as he trapped you in the wall before slapping you making you wince in pain.
“I don’t think it’s your boyfriend honestly because look at you, who could love a girl like you. ” as he kicked your stomach making you hold it.
“Ugly and worthless” as he kicked you to the ground kicking and kicking you.
“Stop please” he laughed hitting you again before he got thrown away from your body. You opened your eyes to see Montgomery on top of your father. The police officers separated them before cuffing your fathers hands as Montgomery run over to you picking you up from the ground.
“It’s Okay, Shh” You fisted his shirt as he sat down on the couch you in his lap.
“Why didn’t you tell me baby?” He whispered as he rocked you back and forth.
“I was scared” he nodded understandably as he kissed your forehead softly not wanting to hurt you.
“I wont let him hurt you anymore” he whispered as he looked at the bruises that your father left.
“I wanna kill him so bad for hurting my princess, no father should ever do something like that to his own flesh and blood” he said his jaw clenched. You put your hands on his cheeks relaxing his jaw.
“Don’t,please just hold me” you whispered as he smiled softly at the girl in his arms nodding he put her legs around his waist as they sat in silence together like a puzzle piece.
